Feeding treats is a good way to reinforce good behaviour and to bond with your pet.  But just as snacking on crisps and chocolate can be bad for our waistline and our health, feeding high fat, high sugar, highly processed treats can be just as damaging to our pets.

When, for example our pack says 100% chicken, that’s exactly what you’ll get, 100% prime chicken breast and nothing else, no junk.

We use the gentlest methods of cooking, such as freeze-drying to keep our treats fresh but in a convenient pack. Freeze drying takes the water out of food very slowly over a 24-hour period at no more than 35 degrees C which keeps the food full of all the nutrients, leaving a completely shelf stable food ready to eat.

This way the foods retain almost all of their original nutrient value and flavour, we don’t need to use additives and preservatives to make them taste good. They are amazingly palatable to pets. If you have ever eaten a freeze-dried strawberry you will know how powerful and intense the flavour is.

You could go to the fish mongers every day and buy some fresh shrimp for your cat, or you could just keep a tube of Thrive 100% Shrimp in your cupboard.
